Poput originala iz 1954., ovaj pickup ima stadradni .187" diametar Alnico 5 polove, podignute na "D" i "G" žicama. To rezultira zvukom koji je twangy, svijetao i koji grize. U usporedbi s STL-1b, Vintage 054 ima malo smanjeni output i svijetlije, reskije visoke.
